Getting "One Step Closer"

I can't believe it's been so long since my last post. I've had lots going on, with the illness of my daughter, and trying to raise money to support Dr. Kurtzberg's incredible research at Duke.

We attended an MLD conference in North Carolina last month. Thanks to Dean and Teryn of the MLD foundation, for hosting it. Dr. Kurtzberg wasn't able to be there, but Dr. Escolar was there, and Dr. Szabolcs, along with Dr. Orchard from U of M, and others. There was talk of MSC cells; and oligodendrocyte cells -- which is what I am so hopeful about.

The Stennis Foundation is doing lots of "behind the scenes" type of work right now, in the hopes of something really big, and being able to raise lots of money. The MLD book is coming along....I had it all edited last year, and then I encountered a horrible virus on my laptop, which caused me to lose absolutely everything. I had to go back to my server, and retrieve all the emails and stories....and then have been working like crazy to get it all re-edited. I have a publisher -- they recently published another book I authored. So the publisher is ready, and as soon as I get this all finished, I will send it in. Thanks for your patience in this endeavor.

The website will soon undergo an upgrade. And, we are looking for a building to house our offices.

We are ever hopeful that the research being conducted by Dr. Kurtzberg and Dr. Beam is the exact ticket we need to bring an end to MLD, as well as reversing the prior damage caused by MLD. Your support is most important in this. And remember, your contributions to The Stennis Foundation are tax-deductible.

Thanks so much for your help! We are "One Step Closer to a Cure!"
